Louisville, Kentucky Celiac Support Group
Mission Statement: The Louisville Celiac Support Group is organized to assist people who have Celiac Disease or are gluten intolerant. Our mission is "Celiacs Helping Celiacs". The group works very hard to inform and educate the community about Celiac Disease, Dermatitis Herpetiformis, gluten intolerance and the gluten free diet. Family members are welcome to attend.
Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month with the exception of a summer picnic and a December holiday party. You can find us at the Baptist Hospital East's Education Center on the second floor. Meetings start at 7:00 pm.and usually run for about an hour with socializing afterwards.
This web site is financially supported by the local chapter of the Celiac Sprue Association (CSA/USA) and is developed by one of its members. The information presented here is intended to help our members better understand the gluten free diet and celiac disease issues.

Find out more about Celiac Disease from Children's Hospital Boston. Their web site has an on-line tutorial about kids and celiac disease. This web site discusses the challenges of raising a child with celiac disease. It is worth a good look. Sarah Hamiliton, our chapter president, is investigating the purchase of their DVD for our group and having it checked out like a library book. Stay tuned.

In May 2008, we will be in PDR1 this time. This is a first for us. The easiest way to get there is to go into the main entrance of the hospital and take the main elevators to the 2nd floor. Follow the signs to the cafeteria. PDR1 is a private dining room in the back of the cafeteria. It would probably be easier to park in the outside lot near the main entrance instead of the garage this time. Our guest speaker will be a representative from Milestone Fitness. We could all use some tips on keeping fit and exercising.
