Ice Cream Factory & Restaurant 4014 Dutchmans Lane Louisville, KY 40222 502-895-4383
This restaurant is inside the mall near the Village 8 movie theaters. It is modest and inexpensive. The management will work with you. All sauces and gravies are made with cornstarch according to one of our members. Green beans are not seasoned with a flavoring mix. The grilled chicken breast is very good and is not mixed with other non-gf cooking on the grill. They have oil and vinegar for salads. The manager marked one menu with items he thought were GF and left it near the cash register. Last review - pre 2004.

Jack Fry's 1007 Bardstown Rd Louisville, Ky 502-452-9244
Burger (without the bun), lettuce and tomato for under $10. Nice restaurant at nice prices. Spouse had a very plentiful Greek salad. Last review - pre 2004.
Kentucky Cove Louisville, KY
One member called ahead and they agreed to work with her. She brought her own soy sauce. The soup was GF. The salad dressing contained soy sauce. The chef used her soy sauce to cook her Kobe Stead and rice. The same approach would work with the shrimp dish.

Low Carb Market in Middletown
A great place for breakfast. Good for lunch and dinner as well. Displays "ugly lamps" from the Kentucky State Fair. Interesting decor. One member reports that they understand GF. Portions are very generous and prices quite reasonable. They do breakfast better than almost anybody. Last review - late 2004.
This market is in the strip mall on the corner of Shelbyville Road and Dorsey Road. It has an in-store deli.
Lynn's Paradise Cafe 984 Barret Ave Louisville, KY 502-583-EGGS
India Palace Shelbyville Rd at Hurstbourne Lane.
One member had a good experience here, but one had a bad experience. One of the vegetarian curries has lentils which are GF, but also has a grain to which she reacted. Our second member had the chicken wings and she had a very negative reaction to them. As with any restaurant, you must be diligent in your questions to the wait staff and management. Last update, April 2007.
No GF menu but the staff was very helpful. The ingredients of the steak seasonings were reviewed and did not contain gluten. Last review - February 2007.
Longhorn Steakhouse Two in Louisville and one in Clarksville, IN
Standard deli fare but you can find some GF items here. Ask for the sandwiches without the bread. Get a half sandwich - they are pretty big. Salads are nice. Baked potatoes are hugh - and dry - ask for extra butter and sour cream. April 2007
