This restaurant has several rice noodle and curry dishes. Thai soy sauce is GF. The Kikkomann soy sauce on the tables in not GF. The owner is very helpful. Last review - late 2004.
Mai's Thai 10th Street, Jeffersonville, IN
This restaurant has a GF menu on their web site - with about 40 items. In October 2007, a group member had a great experience here. The staff is knowledgable about gluten. It is located in the Summit Plaza, near N. Hurstbourne Lane and Route 22. TIP: On their web site, make sure you are on their restaurant's page, select the Louisville location from their drop down list, and then pick the menu, then click gluten free menu. Their list is very encouraging. Of course, this process can be changed by the Mitchell web site!
Mitchell's Fish Market 4031 Summit Plaza Dr. Louisville, KY 502-412-1818
One member recommends this restaturant for a good GF dining experience, December 2007. The hostest indicated they are quite willing to respond to special diets. Their menu is available on-line as of January 2008. Nice atmosphere.
Napa River Grill 3938 Dupont Circle Louisville, Ky 40207 502-893-0141
Outback Steakhouse Check their web site for locations in Louisville and southern Indiana.
The Outbacks have some GF menu items. Date of last review - pre 2004. The desert called "Chocolate Thunder From Down under" is gluten free. It is a flour-less chocolate cake. But avoid the apple side order. Their web site has a link to a gluten free menu, but as of Feb 2007, their GF menu link was not working. Perhaps this was a temporary issue.
Their web site show the ingredients of most of the menu items. It does take diligence on your part to read the many ingredients. Last review - November 2006.
A couple of members recommend this restaurant for a good GF experience. Their web site is very helpful showing their menu, ingredients of each menu item and also shows a GF menu. Under the "cuisine" section, then "speciality menus", a gluten free menu is displayed. Prices of items can be obtained by downloading their PDF menu. Ask for a GF menu when you arrive. GF soy sauce is used in some items! The servers provide GF soy sauce in a separate small bowl at your table. Last review - October 2006
PF Changs China Bristo 9120 Shelbyville Rd, near Hurstourne Ln and US 60 Louisville, Ky 502-327-7707
Porcini 2730 Frankfort Avenue Louisville, KY 40207 502-894-8686
Qdoba offers many of their item menus "naked", that is without the taco or tortilla.
One of our member had a good experience here. Last review - Pre-2003.
One member gets the "naked" chicken or "naked" buritto there all the time but avoids the Mole sauce. Ask for a soft white shell corn tortilla to go with your naked buritto. Just make sure you ask for the corn tortilla and not the flour tortilla. The tortilla soup is GF according to their web site. Check their web site for a list of allergens. Thanks to input from Dan R in November 2006

McAlister's Deli There are muliple locations in the Louisville area.
This deli has a standard deli fare but many items are gluten free.
Mimis Cafe South Hurstbourne Lane, just south of Shelbyville Rd (US 60)
Mimis on Hurstbourne Lane has a folder labeled "celiac disease" past the hostess station. You might need to ask a manager for this. The hostess station also has a low carb menu but that is not helpful regarding avoiding gluten. In the celiac disease folder, there are four pages of gluten free information. It's somewhat helpful but talks about avoiding vinegar and mayo. It may be a bit out of date, but at least, Mimis is aware of celiac disease. Last review - March 2007
Mongolian Grill 9148 Taylorsville Road in the strip mall at the corner of Taylorsville and S. Hurstbourne Lane Louisville, KY
One member reports that on two separate occasions, he has had really good luck with the Mongolian Grill. He was told to stay away from 2 sauces (sweet and sour, and Terriyaki) when preparing your meal. There is a nice lady there who usually works the cash register and she advises the cooks to clean the grill and cooking sticks they use before they cooked his meal. It's usually best to go when they are not real busy, but its worth it. He was told they make their own soy sauce that doesn't contain wheat. Last review - April 2007.
North End Cafe 1722 Frankfort Avenue Louisville, KY 502-896-8770
They serve GF pancakes on Sunday mornings. Looks like a nice restaurant to try. If they serve GF pancakes on a Sunday morning, it's got to be a good place any time! December 2007
